Trainer of Marines
I learned how discipline, standards, repetition, and purpose can build capability under pressure.

I coach paddlers who are ready to commit to the work, to honest feedback, and to becoming far more capable than they thought possible.
My coaching is shaped by years spent training Marines, adults, children, and para-athletes, then refined athlete by athlete, one conversation and one session at a time.
I bring what I know. We discover what works for you.
No two bodies, goals, histories, or lives are the same. Your coaching should not pretend otherwise.I began as a trainer of Marines, then coached adult paddlers, youth and Olympic hopefuls, and finally para-athletes. Each chapter changed how I understood the next. Together, they taught me that the best approach begins with the individual.
I learned how discipline, standards, repetition, and purpose can build capability under pressure.
I learned that strong coaching must fit real bodies, real lives, different histories, and different reasons for being on the water.
I learned to develop potential with patience, clarity, ambition, and the right challenge at the right time.
I learned to see the athlete first, adapt without assumption, and let the individual reveal the most effective path forward.
Coaching is about frequency. Every person responds to a different rhythm, language, level of pressure, amount of repetition, and kind of feedback. My job is to listen closely enough to understand which frequencies help you learn and perform, which ones do not, and when that frequency needs to change.
Coaching is built in the moments between instruction and effort: adapting, laughing, struggling, racing, and learning together. These are some of those moments.

My work is not only about stroke mechanics and training plans. It is also about awareness, ownership, communication, and lasting change.
I ran a successful youth program that grew people as well as athletes. It taught me how to coach with clarity, patience, and purpose.
The paddling organizations I led saw immediate progress and participation growth during my tenure.
When it was time to leave, I made sure the people taking over had everything they needed to surpass me. That is the point.
I am not looking for everyone. I am looking for the paddler who wants a thoughtful partnership and is willing to stay with the process long enough for real change to take hold.
About where you are, what you want, what gets in the way, and whether I am truly the right coach for you.
Your experience, body, craft, schedule, and ambitions shape the work. The plan serves the paddler.
We measure success in capability, confidence, and independence, not in how long I can keep you as a client.

Your program is not limited to workouts and time on the water. When it supports your goals, I can also develop a practical meal plan built around what you are working toward, how you train, and what you can sustain in real life.
I want you to become ten times the paddler you were.
I am, by trade, probably the world’s worst businessman. I am not here to keep knowledge from you or make you dependent on me.
I am here to give everything I can offer until you can carry it forward as your own.
Tell me what you’re working towardNo. Commitment matters more than status. I work with the person in front of me and meet experience with the right level of challenge.
It means we value sustainable skill, understanding, and honest progress over shortcuts. We are willing to adapt, revisit fundamentals, and keep showing up.
No. That honesty protects both of us. A first conversation is about fit. If another coach would serve you better, I will say so.
For you to leave with deeper skill, sharper awareness, and the confidence to own your paddling. Great coaching should expand your independence.
When I have given everything I can offer, I want us to look each other in the eye, smile, and know the work was worth it.
